How to upload your products to Candid

Available options for uploading your wholesale products

In Candid you can upload your products directly to your account in a few different ways:

  • Ecommerce store integration (Shopify, Squarespace, or WooCommerce)
  • Manual product creation directly in Candid
  • A CSV of your products that our support team can use to upload your products

If your ecommerce store is out of date we recommend editing your store before starting the integration. You can also choose another method to add your products to Candid if a direct integration will cause too many editing challenges.

Configuring your ecommerce products to work best with Candid

Before you integrate your ecommerce site with Candid, it's good to go over a couple of best practices that will help ensure you have the most success with your catalog. Below are a couple of key points to remember.

  • You will want to make sure any major needed updates are done in your ecommerce store before you sync your products over. This doesn't mean you can't make edits later, it's just a good idea to start the integration with a clean house.
  • Try not to clutter your ecommerce store product title with SEO keywords. There are other, better places for that (like in the product description). You want your product titles to be easy to read and find in your catalog, so short and simple is best. Ideally, your product title should be just that, a title and nothing else.
  • Try not to put any special promotional offers in your product description or images since this will look poorly in a wholesale catalog. There are other tools you can use within your catalog wherever possible for special offers you would like your buyers to see.

An important note about product variants

Our system has a maximum of 100 variants per product. Currently, there is no way to change this as it's pretty ingrained in our system. This limit is also shared with Squarespace and Shopify, and our integration with those platforms requires us to match their data structure exactly. Any products with over 100 variants will need to be split into multiple products to create standalone items.

How to connect your ecommerce store

Log in to your Candid account and head to your Seller HQ page. Then click on the box that says Complete Catalog:

Next, select the name of your ecommerce provider:

On the next screen, you will need to enter your ecommerce login details to begin the integration. Most integrations only take a few minutes to sync your products over to Candid but they can also take longer depending on the number of products and variants you have.
