How to allow customers to enter custom product details

With Custom Product Fields, sellers can set certain products to be customizable by the buyer. This is a handy feature if say for example you sell products that have an engraving option.


Please note that Custom Product Fields are an add-on for Pro subscription users. To turn this feature on for your account, please contact team@candidwholesale.com first.


Setting Up Custom Product Fields


To configure Custom Product Fields, first navigate to the Product Manager, then click on the product you want to customize. Navigate to the Options tab and select "Custom Fields:"

From here, you can add as many custom fields per variant as you want. The options are:


  • Required / Optional
  • Type (unlimited or limited length text)
  • Label (the prompt users see)
  • Max Text Length (if it's limited length)

NOTE: If you have a lot of products in your catalog requiring customization, reach out to team@candidwholesale.com and we'll help you bulk update them faster than you can in-app.



Custom Product Fields on the Order


Once a product is set up with custom fields, those fields will now show up any time a product is added to an order. If any of the fields are set to "Required", the product can't be added to the order until the required field(s) are filled out.



Once added, buyers and sellers can now see the customizations on the order:
